Liquib 3.2
- New Features
Much of the focus for Liquib 3.2 involved improvements to the Tiling
feature. The Audio and Video players have been enhanced to possibly
allow playing additional media formats. Several other tweaks and improvements.
Further details follow:
Tiling => Tiles can now be scaled
between 10% and 200% of their normal size. Prior to Liquib 3.2, when Tiles
were shifted, either via automated Wandering motion or by manual Tile Shifting
, there had been 2
Tile Shifting Types: Tile to move the Tile itself to different
positions over the source image, or Image to move the underlying source image while
the Tile remained in place. Liquib 3.2 adds a 3rd Tile Shift Type
called Display, which appears to move the entire Tiled screen image (similar
to the Kaleider Pattern Shift Type). The Wander button can be
right-clicked to show a popup menu that includes options to select Tile Shift
Types. Separate choices are available for Wander Shift Type (which can be
randomly selected) and Manual Shift Type, which is used when shifting is performed by
clicking and dragging the mouse. There is also a Tile Scale Zooming option that
will cause Tiles to be continuously scaled back and forth between 100% and 50%.
The Tile Adjustments Panel has been redesigned to include controls for Scaling
Tiles. Click the Adjs button (or type Ctrl-F9) to toggle on/off the
appearance of the Tile Adjustments Panel. A slider is available to Scale
Tiles between 10% and 200% of their normal size, or an exact Scaled Tile Width
value can be entered (the Height would be scaled proportionately). As when
Tile X/Y or Image Sft X/Y values have been entered, click the Do Updates
button after entering a Scaled Tile Width value to actually apply the altered
amounts.
Audio and Video => The Liquib
Audio Player and
Video Player had previously used the
Microsoft DirectShow API to play Audio and Video files.
DirectShow used filters to render the various media codecs that Audios and
Videos are encoded with. But if the necessary filter for a codec was not
installed on the computer, the file could not be played. This might often be fixed
by downloading and installing a free codec package like K-Lite. Liquib 3.2 will
first try to play Audio and Video files by using the more recent Microsoft
Media Foundation API, which can process most of the common media codecs without the
need for filters. Then, if for some reason a file cannot be played by the Media
Foundation, the program will automatically try to play the Audio or Video
using DirectShow.
As of Liquib 3.2 only 64-bit versions of the application will be available.
However, a 32-bit version of Liquib 3.1.1 can still be downloaded for older computers.
