Aside from numerous structural improvements, Liquib 2.7 includes an interesting new Lift Tool.  Also, Improved Quality can now be applied whenever action is paused.  Further details follow:  (Also see Liquib 2.7.1)

• Lift Tool =>  The Lift Tool raises
  
  
  various image-based elements and splays them outwards from the point where the mouse is clicked.  The overall character of lifted objects is determined by the Lift Style, which can be set to Fibers, Blocks, Towers, Spikes or Pyramids.  The Lift Extent adjusts the maximum amount that items might be raised, which also determines the farthest distance that objects can project outwards.  The lift amount is calculated based upon the average image color values within each object, and the Lift Basis can be set to either Lightness or Darkness to specify how the colors are interpretted, essentially whether the lightest or the darkest areas are raised the most.  The relative size of items for most Lift Styles (other than Fibers) can be set via the Lift Size parameter.

  As with all Liquib Tools and Effects, several standard Sequons are available to perform sequences of Lift actions.  And it's also possible to create and store your own Lift Custom Sequons that can later reproduce those action sequences using any source image.
  

• High Quality When Paused =>  Most Liquib Tools and Effects can be rendered with 2 levels of Quality , and the Options screen for each Tool and Effect can be used to specify the situations for which Improved Quality should be applied.  Since Normal Quality generally renders quicker, that level is often most appropriate to use during the real-time creation and evolution of manipulations.  Then, if the Render with Improved Quality when Finished option has been set, the Tool/Effect will automatically be re-rendered with Improved Quality when finalized.  Now, it's also possible to automatically re-render such Tools/Effects with Improved Quality whenever the process has been paused.  The Apply Improved Quality When Paused option can be accessed either from the Edit Menu or by right-clicking the button.  This would typically occur when the Pause button is clicked (or the Space Bar is hit) during Automatic Effects, or while a Random Effect or a Sequon is being applied.  The interim results of a Tool/Effect could then be viewed and evaluated at full Quality, perhaps allowing a decision to be made whether to stop the creation at that point or continue the process to the normal completion.
  

Also, a new Spout Out feature has been added.  When Spout Out is toggled on, Liquib becomes a Spout Sender, continuously sharing screen displays with other programs that can be Spout Receivers, such as Resolume and Mad Mapper.  This capability might be useful to VeeJays and other performance artists.  The Spout Out option can be found under the VJ Menu, along with the existing MIDI options.
